The library needs your support to raise the funds needed for essentials.
We hope you will share our excitement about the library’s new home and give us your support. The building is fast taking shape but the library won’t be able to move until funds are raised for all the soft furnishings, computers, AV equipment, security and operational systems. Note the library and the library foundation would not usually be tasked with raising this capital, except our town and county have been abnormally burdened lately with our beautiful new hospital and recreational centre.
A library renovation/relocation had been in the offing for many years, and though the timing is unfortunate, a later move was not an option. The library has outgrown its current location and maintenance issues in both the old and new locations have forced the move.
We are sure you value the library as an educational, cultural and supportive community service, see it on equal footing with other municipal institutions, and will value a beautiful new space as an integral part of a revitalized downtown Truro.
The current location has served for 47 years and we expect the new, expanded space to serve the community for many decades to come.
Join us in raising the funds – you can donate here online, send us a cheque (payable to the Colchester-East Hants Public Library Foundation, please) name a chair or a room, participate in any or all of our events, remember us in your will, spread the word about this one-time need in your community and the importance of everyone’s support.
